With 240 people registering to run, close to 300 people including volunteers and onlookers gathered at Varsity Sports in Old Mandeville on Saturday, Oct 25th for the first Sunny Days for Sadie 1M & 5K Race.

Thanks to Ryan Green and all our new friends at Varsity Sports, along with the fabulous efforts of Diane and Bud Weiss and the 15th Street Flyers team, the race was unmatched for it's organization, charm and enthusiasm.
Sadie's grand parents, David ("Grand-père") and Zella ("Zee Zee") Walker of Old Mandeville were on hand to welcome everyone, convey their thanks and lead off the race.
A flat, fast course course winding through the beautiful streets of Old Mandeville and then along the scenic lakefront provided a great setting for participation from notable local runners as well as weekend joggers and well-wishers.
"Go disa way"
In keeping with the theme, runners were guided through the course by giant sunflowers pointing the way before being greeted at the finish line by the stellar Varsity Sports / 15th St Flyer Team.

Once participants crossed the finish line, the Claiborne St. party continued. Team in Training was there to support Sadie and the runners with fresh pasta salad, and Great Harvest Bread Co. from Covington, supplied awesome oatmeal cookies and pumpkin breads for everyone there. And then there were the prizes, and more prizes and MORE prizes! Check out the slide show below....
